Foundations in Occupational Health and Safety
This course for member advocates delivers foundational skills to help advocates understand key safety concepts and develop a strategic focus to promote change.
The course includes modules on worker rights, employer and worker responsibilities, and union resources to help you promote workplace safety. The course will help advocates grow in confidence so they can better support their colleagues through collaborate action.
Course Format
This blended learning course includes one live session and online asynchronous learning activities (independent study). It begins with online learner prep two weeks prior to the live session. During the live session, Members will complete activities and review 'just in time' online resources available to support their role.

Prerequisites
- BCNU Member
Note: Foundations in OHS is a new BCNU course. Course applications typically open four months prior to course start, and close 6 weeks prior to course start to allow Members time to request union leave.
Salary Reimbursement
In order to be receive salary reimbursement for this course, you will need to apply for Union Leave with your employer.
