This intermediate-level online course is intended to complement the foundational Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHS) training you have already received by diving deeper into the world of workplace inspections and hazard identifications. Learn about hazard identification, risk assessments, control measures, evaluation & follow-up, as well as legislation & contractual requirements.
This is a blended learning course. It begins with online learner prep two weeks prior to the live (virtual) session. During the live session, Members will complete activities and review 'just in time' online resources available to support them in fulfilling their role.
The courses are offered virtually, unless noted in the course name (check list of upcoming offerings below).
In order to be receive salary reimbursement for this course, you will need to apply for Union Leave with your employer. Please apply for Union Leave after your application for the course has been approved. You can find the Union Leave Request Form on the BCNU website. Note: Course applications open four months prior to course start, and close 6 weeks prior to course start to allow Members time to request union leave.
