OHS Incident Investigations

This course is intended to complement the foundational Joint Health and Safety Committee Basics training you have already received by diving deeper into the world of incident investigations. Learn about the importance of effective incident investigations, preparation for an incident investigation, participation in the incident investigation process, developing a follow-up plan, and legislative and contractual requirements.

Course Format

This blended learning course includes one live session and online asynchronous learning activities (independent study). It begins with online learner prep two weeks prior to the live session. During the live session, Members will complete activities and review 'just in time' online resources available to support their role.

The live sessions are offered virtually or in-person. Please check the list of upcoming offerings below.

  • Active JOHSC Representative
  • Completed Joint Health & Safety Committee Basics Course

Salary Reimbursement

In order to be receive salary reimbursement for this course, you will need to apply for Union Leave with your employer. Please apply for Union Leave after your application for the course has been approved. You can find the Union Leave Request form on the BCNU website. Note: Course applications open four months prior to course start, and close 6 weeks prior to course start to allow Members time to request union leave.
